Nick and myself visited Marshall Music today. They had no Tokais, I think Bothners might stock them.
They did however have Tanglewood Electrics. I remember a few years back playing a cheap tanglewood acoustic and being very impressed with how it sounded.
Today I tried their LP copies and they are surprisingly good. There was a guy playing some blues on one and it sounded really good. I tried one myself, feels like a solid guitar. Neck may be a little thin for my liking, but I am used to big necks. Looking at the price, these go for around 3400 and comparing them to the epi LP's these seem to be much better quality. the fretboard had nicer wood, has a set neck, nice and light, hardware seems fine. I just didnt like the feel of the pots, but that can be remedied. The stock pickups sounded good as well. So if someone is looking for a LP type guitar, check these out. I would not have minded taking the Honey burst one home with me.
So just a heads up, I haven't seen these before and thought I would share it. Sad thing is, I think the prices might start to climb if they are a hit.
The one I played looked like this
