Hey dudes, there's one of these , pretty old(1994ish) needing attention - is it worth it getting one for cheap and sorting out? What do you think of them?From what I can gather very nice plugged in sound and great gigging guitars...

Depends what cheapish is and what attention it needs I guess. Actually I dont know really but I like them and would've liked to take a look as well but this is down in Durban ne?

What would be cheapish? I'm thinking 1grand? Something up with pickup/battery connecter or something...

Yamaha APX is a great gigging guitar.
I have an APX97 Ltd which is a sort of collectable APX and it has a great Pick up and is very playable.
As an unplugged guitar get a bigger body one but for stage work they are unbeatable IMHO.

Just went and checked it out - needs a lot of attention... Also he painted it black(it was a really nice tabacco burst). Quite old, from the 80's or so - but he wants a little more than I am willing to pay - like 2grand... I'd take it for 1.2................
What do you folks think?
