Awesome man, any idea of the general price range for a stompbox size? Paid way too much for one from Rabtron last year.

I get my cases from RS, They the same size as the MXR pedals and come in at +-R40.

The normal die-cast box for effects are the Hammond boxes. I stand to be corrected but I think the size used is the 1509.

But 1590s come in different sizes. Which one is the MXR?

1509A or 1509FL are the right size by the looks of it

MXR has varying sizes of enclosure.. eg, the distortion box is not the same size as the phase 100.

The distortion is 1590B in the above link, phase 100 is the BB I think.

Those boxes at RS are bloody cheap, compared to buying from Small Bear Elec or other overseas suppliers. I'm gonna get a few of the 112x60x27. Almost the same dimensions as the 1590B's.

1590B and BB are the most commonly used, you're right man. Now we just need 3pdt switches ?

Ok...The enclosures I have been using are the following:

They are roughly the same dimensions as the MXR phase 90/MicroAmp/Dynacomp etc and are really nice when they are finished.

The Fulldrive II was made with a larger enclosure.

I have been using DPDT switches and no LED's, however when you have a couple different drives and boost options it gets rather confusing!! So have been investigating the 3PDT options...both import and actually modding a 4PDT toggle switch (available locally) to a 4PDT pushbutton switch.

The MXR styled enclosure is the Hammond 1590B, which is double the price, but the quality is superior, esp if you plan of powder-coating and screening.
