Hmm must get Addictive Drums.
How come on EZDrummer it always goes back to the default setting when i load my project? I even tried saving a preset, it didn't work. Mixer stays the same though. What am I doing wrong? This is in Reaper. I select Drumkit from Hell bit it goes back to Rock/Pop drums ☹

Must be something with your DAW. Sonar saves all the plug/softsynth settings too - even if you haven't saved them as a patch.

Ive now gone and thrown out all my plugins and decided to start over.. It got too much.. Thus the list is now tiny and pretty.. ?

If I need delays I just use the dodgy ProTools ones which actually are awesome IMHO..

Thanks Alan I'll try it in Cubase or Ableton Live, see if it works.

Cool! It seems like alot of people are loving Addictive drums, only recently heard of them... how do you rate them against say EZ drummer and BFD?

Also, what DAW you using with those lovely plugs?? (always interested to find out!)

I'm using Reaper and all works well. I have not used EZD so ci annot comment between the two....

If you're into free plugins there are a couple of suites that I use regularly and find indispensible:

Bootsy plugins:

The whole suite is everything you need to get a competant mix. Really top class.

Antress Modern plugins:

Great emulations of classic gear. Some gems in there, especially the Neve-style EQs. My only complaint is the sometimes small GUI's.

Interesting, I wonder how they compare to the expensive like UAD and Waves emulations!
I have been on the search for real nice compressor (vintage) style, I will give these a try until I can afford a UAd card or the like.

FWIW, I have the UAD emulations and, as you would expect, the Antress emulations are not as good. Although, given that in my opinion the UAD emulations are top of their class, that can be forgiven because while I say "not as good", the Antress emus do offer you quality that is very usable in a mix.

Also, if you're looking for a good compressor, I would recommend the Bootsy Density MkII. It's got mid/side capability as well, which gives you many different options for compressing stereo material and it also works well on all instruments. I find it very transparent as well. I personally would put this compressor up to many of the commercially available ones any day.

Both of those suites together gives you a powerful selection. Combine them with all with the Bootsy NastyDLA delay, the Epicverb reverb plugin and the free SIR impulse reverb (with free impulses), and you have no excuse to accomplish anything in a mix situation.

Bootsy Plugins as mentioned already, free and just as good, if not better than the expensive stuff.

I'm also a fan of the Conspiracy Plugs, I'm not exactly sure on the legality of them and if they're "free" or not, but they seem to be abandonware and there's no way to find out so that's good enough for me, the guy who coded them is the same guy who codes for the BIG plugin companies putting out the big expensive plugins like Elysia and Brainworx and I think he did some of the Abbey Roads plugins. (the Conspiracy "SSL" buss comp kicks the Waves one in the balls and at the same settings sounds identical to the SSL Duende comp...to my ears anyway)

Stock Logic plugins aren't bad either.
