Guitar Case options`
infernox
Ola guys
Seeing as im shipping my guitars to the UK in a few months, I need to start looking for cases.
What options have a got and what would you all recommend?
Keira-WitherKay
i've travelled a lot with guitars and mostly they go freight or in the hold.............
if you can afford it buy or get solid aluminium flightcases made up for your guitars.......... they heavy so if you paying for freight it's an issue but they the safest .............
next down is the SKB line of travel cases......... a few companies basically copy the skb design and they work well........ these cases tho are like modern cars are designed to shatter a bit to absorb the impact in a crisis .... i had a fender jazz bass in a skb case get the corner crunched on a tour but the plastic or whatever material the case is made of shattered and the bass was fine .....they also have a solid foam interior .. i needed a new case but the bass was safe .........
i would recommend the above.............
and btw skb make cases specifically for airtravel check their catalogue they all get a rating .......... and the fab thing is a normal case weighs about 5.5 kg or there abouts but an skb guitar case weighs about 3 kg or so thats 2 kg of freight you save on and the case is still tougher than the heavy solid but less pliable/flexible ones

Thanx Keira, sorry for the delay only remembered about this thread now.
Went to Marshall Music and saw a Gator case for R750 +- which I think will suit my needs. They only need to travel once, but Im also not buying the cheapest.
I hate going to marshall's.... just saw the Line-6 POD X3 Live and yes that shall be my new amp/stompbox once we in the UK.
