Vick Oky,so I finally have the money for that strat....iv thrown the roadhouse(mim reissue) to the dogs after borrowing one for a week...supper nice guitar, but not wat I'm looking for.... Sooo I going in the direction of the classic player 50's strat or the 60's version...but I can't find one to test out. Any body have some opinions, suggestions for alternative or know of a shop in PTA or Joburg were I can give one a test drive...? Thanks a lot ?
AlanRatcliffe The Classic Player '60s Strat is a great guitar. Like the Baja Tele, it's vintage in the right places and modern in the other right places. I'd take one over a US Strat anyday. You're best bet to find one in Gauteng is probably Music Connection.
Danny-B Call in for the 50's Classic Player ? Tis my main squeeze! I dig it, looooooooove the neck. The tuners are super nice and stable, was doing a big show recently and my D snapped at the bridge, and the guitar stayed perfectly in tune! A very nice giggable guitar. The 60's is deelish. I would totally get one, and may have chosen it over the 50's if I had a choice ?
MIKA-the-better-one music connection have a 60s player...... super great, and goood price.......... check them out.............
Vick Thanx for the invite man, but I had to go to joburg today so I went...we'll some of there stuff is reasonably priced, but like other stuff is crazy....like in a bad way... Like they had a t-rex tone bug OD..the next line might offend sensitive gear whores...for like 2000 ? madness They also had the strat, played it and I loved it,that sonic blue and aged pick guard and knobs looks amazing, thou I'm going to go and try out a 50's one tomorrow....and then there's also a wilde card,a jap strat with CS 69' pickups.... Thanx for the info guys....
MIKA-the-better-one Music Connection lately have been real C***s............... they are super overpricing stuff, and talking crap about gear they know very little about (or at least some of them) Aside, the jap strat is the sunburst one right............. Its nice isnt it........ marshall music in woodmead are doing there 70s AVRI strat for 16k which is a steal even in the usa....... I hot my new strat today........ pics tommorow ?
