And I am very partial to technical masters and fusion, even though I thoroughly appreciate soulful dudes like Carlos Santana or BB King or rhythmic savants like Keith Winter (Shakatak)

HooBoy what a list of guitarists, surely I saw Jimmy Page's name in there somewhere ? for tis he who led me through my youth some years ago. Yes it would be silly to try and formulate a list, but pleez let's include Snowy White my favourite guitarist atm (inspired by the likes of David Gilmour and Peter Green) 8)

i'm also sticking with Guthrie, but Ron Jarzombek (Blotted Science/Spastic ink/Watchtower) is a beast. Jazz/rock fusion is great, but Jazz/metal has been kicking my ass lately. ???
