IMO if you been playing for 20 years or more and you don't make it to your own favourite list then you either doing something wrong or are severely Catholic. ? Some of my favourite guitarists may not be as technically proficient or as experienced as myself but they still are my favourites.

We are modest arent we!! ?
Renesongs
I hope In time you will be in your own audience stealing your own chords ?

I'm definitely with Rene here! I wanted to play guitar so I could play cool bluesy licks and just generally enjoy making music and I've started doing that so, technically, I'm one of my favourite guitarists too!
Like, in my latest recording, I absolutely love the first minute or so ? After that, I kinda disown myself but, JA, it feels good to like what you've created enough to admire it as much as you admire some other artists.
Thanks for bringing some sense into the mix, Rene ?

I think most of us have experienced that feeling.
I come up with some rythm's and I can say that Ive sat back afterwards and thought "Holy shit that sounds good".

I don't really listen 2 Inflames, but the lead tone is insane! Do any of u maybe know what gear the guy use?
Wessel
Inflames used Esp's for a long time but now they are playing Gibson. They used Peavy 5150 amps on most of their recordings. I have read on other forums that they use Line6 effects.
Martyr
My favorites are
Matthew Kiichi heafy (TRIVIUM)
James Root(Slipknot)
Kirk Hammett(Metallica)
John Petrucci(Dream Theater
i know the 1st 2 aren't exactly old players, but i still like 'em alot ?

Mikael Akerfeld - Opeth (probably one of the best songwriters I've heard in a while)
Steve Vai - I'm gonna say him because I've been watching his DVD in the past few weeks and it seems that he has officially STOPPED learning guitar. I can't see him learning anything else lol
Guthrie Govan - Been really getting into him lately (And I don't normally do solo guitarists)
His playing is really clean
Well his playing, no so sure about his hair.
Renesongs
it seems that he has officially STOPPED learning guitar.
IMO the only guitarist who have stopped learning guitar are people like Jimi Hendrix, Stevie-Ray Vaughn and Frank Zappa - they're dead.
Satriani
100%
Any guitarist who is a good musician knows they will never ever stop learning. From a theory perspective tho, I feel there are certain musicians who really have LEARNT everything, BUT not mastered everything, hence u can never stop learning to master concepts and ideas

+1 on those. Someone who recognises Malcolm Young's chunky rhythms and not just Angus' lead and riff work? Cool. ?
