Really,I can not find any bands bleh >☹

I am getting really frustrated. I have tasted the sweet taste of playing in a band now it kinda sucks just jamming on your own. What to do what to do :'(

I wouldn't have thought you would have trouble finding bands in JHB. Maybe try putting up some posters in the music shops. Otherwise, maybe you can get in contact with people on Gumtree?

It took me a full year to find a working band........
Although I did have the thing of saying in my ad "no ibanez"

Even when you find guys they may not work out much more than a few practices.... as they just dont fit

If my band broke up now, I would just write music none the less, maybe even record it........... guys latch on to someone who does there thing band or no band ?

Gumtree and junkmail. I put in an ad that I'm looking for guys to session with, nothing serious or hardcore and got 3 guys who came back to me. Bass guitarist how's very entry level, but who's picking up fast and practices all the time now and a guy with an electronic drum kit who can really play, it just looks wierd seeing him set up though.......lol.

The 3rd guy, well...........he plays in a church band and loves rock, he just never gets to play it.

I want to play a bit more rock and less metal and this group seems keen. Last session was paranoid and gotta be somebody.................I need to practice my vocals more.......the guitar on those songs for once is the easy part.

My offer is still open if your mom ever lets you come to Pta.........?

Nothing gets done unless somebody does something. So turn your desire into action. Make yourself known, look for other people in the same situation as you, look for a rehearsal space. Do all the things that you can do.

Look, I'm quite pessimistic and negative by nature (well... being a pessimist has the up side that you're seldom disappointed), but every now and then I get a bee in my bonnet about something and I find that if I put some time and energy into it then, much to my surprise, things get done and the the idea becomes a reality.

Try and get an audio interface for your pc and a drum machine and record some stuff - lots of fun, helps with song ideas, and imo better practice than just noodling about on your own..

Many artists who started out in a band has eventually gone the solo route. There is nothing more difficult than getting a few guys together who can get on with each other, creatively. Especially when you have preconceived ideas of what you wanna do.

Looking at the solo option may be an idea. Get creative. Be flexible.

I fully agree with Donovan's motivation.

All of those guys, dont really inspire me, so it wouldnt have worked....... Maybe i would conider them if they got some decent gear :?
