Dream theater dvds is a must have for any guitar player. I have four dream theater dvds, and I must say its the best ever. their music is so technical and theres just no way to describe it. They play 3 hour shows without one of them making ANY mistakes. Its just some of the best i have ever seen.

I think John Petrucci has the world biggest memory! To remember all the long Dream Theatre songs and his solo stuff. Thats insane.

Apart from the memory, he's also probably got a motherload of stamina to play like that for 3 - 4 hours. Completely agree with JP (jacopetra not John Petrucci). Long live the 'Trooch!

Or there was "fixing" done. More likely there are no howlers. Even the very best players make mistakes when playing live, but they seldom are glaringly obvious.

My limited experience of playing live suggests to me that you can get away with quite a lot of mistakes if you maintain your timing. You'll probably get away with bum notes that are played in time. But flub the timing and EVERYBODY notices.

On the Score DVD, Labrie makes a mistake with the lyrics in "The Afterlife" and Rudess makes one timing mistake in "Metropolis". Portnoy spits on Petrucci's cabs, which could be considered the biggest mistake, considering the size of Petrucci's arms and chest at the time. ?

Petrucci has been doing the "roids" and since then he's developed a bit of a stage presence slightly more
exciting that putting his foot on his monitor and looking at his frets....
