Korg Pitch Black Tuner

Any forum members have any experience with these tuners?

Is this in the same class as the Boss tu2?

I dont have the Korg , never had a TU either BUT i did a hellova lot of research on pedal tuners before buying mine and by all accounts the Korg is a vastly superior animal to the TU2 and better than the TU3 from a bypass point of view.

TU 2 is accurate within 3 % while the Korg is within 0.5 % as an example.

But the TU2/3 is cheaper.

I use one. Much better than a TU-2/3 IMO. A perfect "live" tuner. What's not to like? Inexpensive; true bypass; small footprint; large, easy to read display; filtered power out jack; and pretty accurate.

The Petersens are more accurate and have "sweetened" tunings, but I'm not fond of the display. The PolyTune has the polyphonic tuning thing, but that wasn't enough to convince me to shell out a relatively large price difference to "upgrade".

I'm using a Pitchblack after much research and I'm 100% satisfied with the choice I made...

The Pitchblack is much more accurate than the TU-2 and on paper equal to the TU-3 except for the addition of true bypass. I much prefer the PB to the Boss alternatives... If you want even more accuracy, go for the Pitchblack plus... The standard PB is great however.

The Korg web site shows two tuners, the "Pitch Black" and the "Pitch Black +". They only claim the very high accuracy for the PB+.

I am getting one next week as a gift from my brother who is visiting from the UK.
It makes a hell of a change from English Toffee, Chocolates, Magazines etc that he normally brings. ?

I cannot fault the Pitchblack. Simple, functional and very accurate. I think you'll be very happy with it. Enjoy!

Been using one since they came out - around 2 or 3 years now. Great pedal tuner. Agree with everything Alan said.
