Burning sensation in fingertip

Wow, I can't press a single thing with my 1st finger. Hardly even the keyboard. Anybody experienced this before? I hope it goes away fast, I'm dying to jam!!!!

Yup! Every now and again I get strange pains in my fingertips where I can barely type and DEFINITELY can't play.

It usually goes away after a few hours or even a day. Dunno what it is or how it's caused.

The nerves in your carpal tunnel get compressed causing pain in the fingers and numbness in your hands

Best you can do is rub on some Iceman/Deepheat and rest it

No shame - I have had a couple "digital" problems over the years, and no, they were not always related to sex or lack thereof, (No my name is not Harry Palmer).

I was once on medication and after a few days my fingertips were numb, I complained to the doctor , he said that he had never heard of that as a side effect. I continued to bitch until he changed my prescription. A few months later, after Jaco Pastorius died tragically, I read that he was on the selfsame medication but stopped taking it because it made his fingers numb. ???

Another time I was putting in a lot of guitar practice for an important gig. My left hand fingers were becoming really sore so that I could hardly play. My callouses were hard and not cracked. I was talking to a guy that used to be gymnast, he reckoned that he used to get blisters under his callouses, made sense, but not much I could do about it except coat my fingertips with super glue before I played (warning!! do not do this if your skin is broken).

The third indecent is more boring, has to do with growing old. If I do continuous strenuous work with my hands like work on cars particularly with cold spanners, I get arthritis in my wrist and fingers - it burns and itches like hell. Then you know you are having a Salusa 45 moment (although Bob Martins seem to work better on an old dog like me) ?

coat my fingertips with super glue before I played (warning!! do not do this if your skin is broken).

I used to think that superglue was poisonous (the "cyano" in cyanoacrylate), but was set straight on it by my doctor when she superglued a slash in my arm (plate glass bookshelf door).
