The thing about Tumeni Notes is that he wrote it as a mickey-take of the Neoclassical shredders, not as a serious piece of music. I think he's a bit mortified that people like it so much. It's a lot more one-dimensional than most of the stuff he usually does.

The Morse Band is nice in that it's a trio of monster musos and he gets a good chance to fill in space by playing off delays, using volume swells or adding guitar synth pads behind the guitar.

He's a very flexible guitarist too.

What a player, but more than his playing is the composition, excellent stuff.
I hadn't heard these live.

Amazing how he pulls off Highland Wedding, I was wondering how he was going to compensate for all the layers of guitars on the studio version.
The country stuff also blows me away.

Agreed. That's what truly sets him apart from the pack. Many can widdle faster on the fretboard or wobble the whammy more, but most are just shredding over a boring one dimensional backing comp. Morse composes entire pieces of music. It also helps that he has two other band members who are well up to speed.

Bob-Dubery

Highland Wedding is a good example of how you can bring extra colours to your palette by listening to other styles. Clear nods to Scots music in the melody and piping licks in the solo.
