Power supply question

With all the questions i ask i reckon i owe you knowledgeable ppl a beer .....

Next question in my journey is around power supplies. I currently have a Boss PSA230 which i utilise to power 3 pedals daisy chained an readong on the net apparently this can be used up to 8 pedals (assuming standard boss like pedals) ..i also been learning about the Voodoo Labs ISO 5 brick. in the process of looking at proper pedal cases/boards and i dont reckon i will ever go past 5 pedals ... which will be tuner -> reverb > overdrive - chorus > delay ...

will the PSA 230 suffice or should i get a "better" supply.

Well all of us sharing one beer might be difficult.

Could you list the pedals you intend to use? Different pedals can draw different amounts of current, which makes all the difference!

The PSA 230 is a 9v 500mA right?

I have owned the ISO-5, and currently have the Pedal Power 2.

It is difficult to buy a power supply if you not sure on what your power needs are.
I had the ISO5 and the reason I got rid of it was because it didnt have ENOUGH outputs..
I only have an 8 pedal board, all 9v except the delay which I use a 12v 400mA output.
The ISO has an 18v output, which is pretty useless unless you have an 18v pedal (None of mine use that)
Then it depends, like and Eventide Timefactor draws over a 1000mA if I'm not mistaken.. So the PSA230 will not even power that one pedal alone.

The Pedal Power 2, would be your safest bet, and has enough power, switches to change between 9v and 12v, a switch to change two outputs to sag (anything between 5v-9v)

The ISO would do the job if you kept it simple, but then you still have that wasted 18v and no room for any expansion ?

Think about your power needs first, (which you need to know what pedals you have or would like) and then buy a supply on that info..

dealy and reverb, are power hungry..... a psa may power them, but it will be noisy, and they wont sound there best.......

Boss TU 3 , Bad monkey , Diditech digiverb , Boss Chorus , Boss DD 3 ...

i tell you ,i started out wanting to learn to play guitar ,,,now i am learning a bout "lectrics, efffects, modulation , nuts,bridges, pups, tuningng machines and loads of other big words even bigger than marmalade and thats a big word for me.

Yes it does , 200 whereas the Polytune is 2000

Ah, i didn't even know the polytune had a power-out.

Either way - if you want to get rid of your tu-3 let me know ?
