Ibanez ARX300 - Any users in here?

Well I just sold my epiphone special II that I bought a week or so back as I couldn't bring myself to taking it apart and souping it up as it was totally mint. SO I decided to flow it and move along. ( I like to wheel and deal a bit, if you haven't noticed already)

I was offered a 2008 Ibanez ARX300 this morning for R1500-00. Still brand new, never been played, but been used as wall art, it even still had the plastic on the pick-ups.........(lol I know). I gave it a play and loved the feel and sound of it. In fact it feels awesome. (where has this guitar been all my life????)

Is this guitar supposed to be a budget ibanez?

Cause it sure as hell don't feel like it.

This guitar is very similar to my ARC300

Different Tailpiece (ARC 300 has fine tuners) and pick-ups but same woods and construction.

I've modified mine with a Graphtech Nut and Tonerider Alnico IV PUP's.

Plays and sounds like a dream.......I bought mine new for about R2600.00 and I consider it a great bargain.

They are "Budget" guitars but are able to punch way above their weight.

Probably the weakest link is the cheap plastic nut and an upgrade there is worth the money spent.

My next mod will be a new Tone Cap and Pots upgrade.

Oooh that's nice. I kinda like the tail peice, gives it a more vintage feel and look which I like. I was thinking a set of Rebel toneriders on this or a set of artcore 1 & 2's that I have at homealso got a whale bone nut........guess it's now found a home.

Quick addition, I ended up paying R1200 for it.

Thanks....The ARC 300 is "Almost" LP looking.

My PUP's are the black ones......(Note to self....Must post an updated pic.... :-\)...which give the guitar a different look over the chrome covers.

I also looked at the Rebels as an upgrade option but settled for the Alnico IV for a more vintage sound.

Yup.......looks a lot more LP looking than the epiphone special II that I just sold. I dunno what it is, but nowadays I'm liking bursts and binding, gawd am I getting old? I would have NEVER looked at a guitar like this when I was younger.

I dig the chrome covers...................lol.

I'm a rocker, metal head, but am looking for a variety guitar at the moment, this seems to be it.

sorry man...I take it that you're greg on BoB???.... :'( I actually heard about this guitar by accident. A friend knows the owner through music mate, I got to play it and heard about the BoB auction that it was on. I bid on it, hoping to get it for under my what I was thinking it was worth, but once I saw the interest in it, I asked what the reserve was and what they were willing to take for it, (all made public in BoB, that made me worry), once they said what they wanted, I asked them to relist as a buy now and then I jumped all over it.

I covered the Bob listing fee for them as well to make everyone happy......still got it for a total bargain in my books. Just picked it up about 20 minutes ago and I couldn't be happier. Got a kick ass gig bag with it as well.

Will post some pictures of it in teh your gear section once it's been cleaned up as it's duuuuuuuusty.

This is the second bargain that I've picked up on Bob...........I'll never sell there though............too many cheapskates like me on there.

Yip - that was me, and yip, I'm one of the cheapskates looking for bargains :-[

It looks like a beauty, and if I wasn't expecting 5 guitars from the UK mid October then I definitely would have gone for it - great price!
