Mesa Boogie 3ch Dual Rectifier: Effects loop Mod: Parallel => Serial

Hi Guys

I am in the process of purchasing a TCElectronic G-System limited edition but have run into a major snag... My Mesa 3 channel Dual Rectifier has a parallel effects loop and according to all my research, this is everything but ideal for running a GS via 4 cable method through my Mesa's loop... Apparently I can have a small mod done to my amp to change the loop to serial, leaving all the amps functions in place except the "wet & dry" parallel mix knob on the back panel of the head. Unfortunately, according to what I've researched so far, there will still be a small amount of bleed from the dry to the wet signal which would make the whole procedure pointless imo... I don’t know if this is a fact or not…

Does anyone know or have experience having a 3 channel Mesa Dual- or Triple Rectifier's effects loop successfully modded to serial? I really do not wish or have the funds to sell my Mesa to get a new one with a serial loop and buy a G-System on top of that...

Any info shared to help me get out of this depressing situation would be greatly appreciated!!

Simply turning the "mix" knob to fully wet should essentially be the same as a series loop. Try it first before you mod the amp.

Thanks Allen, I definately will do that. Only thing is the minimum mix on the Mesa is 10% and not 0%... I do not understand Mesa's reasoning behind this as it causes all sorts of issues when running modulation effects after the pre-amp. Running a G-system in front od the amp is another no-go as the Mesa's gain stages are way too extreme to even consider... A very 'Eish' situation I'm in... but I'm trying everything to find a solution asap as I'm probably ordering the G-System and Nova Drive today...

I have 3 different Recto schematics and all three suggest to me that relay 2 switches between parallel and serial... unless I'm reading it wrongly. Maybe a good question would be from what year this one is? In any case, I'd look into the amp issue first since the mod can't be very expensive. Call Guru Karel?

LOL!!!! Sorry for derail, I just think it's funny you have Recto schematics (not one but 3 sets) on hand... Gearhead indeed! ?
