I've recently baught myself a Gretsch g5120. (Electromatic)
I've been really happy with the guitar and I've had it for a month now.
Two days ago I snapped my first string and as I do with all my guitars, I replaced all 6. Only problem is, since I replaced the strings the action is way too low and I'm getting a fret buzz from Hell. The overall tone is off as well.
I've turned the bridge thumb wheels to their highest setting to no avail.
I've googled and youtubed and tried a few things, but alas! Even the sound is different from the strings I baught it with.
Please can anyone give me some advice? And is there a certain gauge of string that should be used with this model of guitar?
Any and all input would be greatly appreciated.

Nice guitar, congratulations!
You may have moved the bridge from where it is supposed to be, which changes the scale length, intonation and the action. See the vid below for setup. It could also be that you've put lighter strings on and the truss rod needs adjusting.

shuu..I nearly posted the same vid as Alan above.
This vid is very useful and hopefully it will solve your problem.
Good luck...and keep us posted.
PS: gauge 11's at least I would think.
