Very cool.
Excuse my electronic ignorance, but why 2 8" and not one 12" or so?
Smaller speakers tend to have tighter responses. So you will find a 10" or 8" has a tighter bass feel than a 12" but lower bass volume.
The smaller speaker has a lighter cone with less surface area - lighter cone means less moment of inertia so tighter response; smaller surface area means less "power" is transformed into air movement, so less volume, especially of low frequencies
Also, with two speakers you get that slight out of phase sound - compare a 12" to a 2x12" cab and you will see that the 2x12 has a warmer less harsh sound to it (generalizing of course.) as well as more bass since higher frequencies tend to cancel more than lower ones.
So, one 8" gives you tighter sounding bass but adding an extra 8" can increase the bass volume all while still maintaining a small enclosure ?
Hope that is right LOL ?
