As a matter of interest, how does the AD30 compare to the cube?
Hey Raithza, in my own opinion, I found that the Vox has a much more natural sound to it.
The Cube also sounds good but just different from the Vox. It's hard the A / B them because
they are both very good and have different tonal qualities. I agree with Tokai SA the effects
on the Cube are better than the Vox. If I had to choose between the Vox and Cube I would
go for the Vox, just because the amp models are better and it sounds more natural to be.
Also with the Vox you can write 2 on channels whereas the Cube you can't do that

my brutefully honest opinion and like all things musical its subjective but you aint going to get
better than the Vox you already have for modelling. Each has its pro's an cons but hte Vox
range is difficult to beat
Thanks for your advice IceCreamMan I appreciate it. You are completely correct in saying that
tone is subjective. Many times I've had gear I really did not like and ended up selling it to people
who absolutely loved it (beauty is in the eye / ear of the beholder). I won't deny that the Vox is
very good, in fact I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a modeling amp but I'm just
looking for something new now. It will be a trade though as I don't have cash but do have some
gear I don't use. So I can't afford anything too expensive.

I've had all 3.
Vox does the clean and just breaking up tones best.
Line 6 does heavy distortion tones best.
And Boss/Roland beat both of them in so far as FX goes, but the COSM amp modelling is not as
good as Line 6 and Vox. Keep in mind, Line 6 are about to release (end of next month) their new
modellers(HD Series) and amps...all new modelling technology that's apparently going to blow
away all their previous modelling.
Thanks for the comparison Tokai SA, I completely agree with you, the Vox does cleans better than
the Cube (though the Cube's clean is not to be scoffed at, they still very good, just different).
I've been watching vids on U-Tube of the Spider 4 Insane channel and that distortion is very
brutal with very little fuzz to it. Must go try it out sometime though. I'll go check out those new
amps when they come out (thanks for the heads up by the way) and see how they stack up to the
old Spiders.

What about the Vox VT30? Its a decent price and does a fair bit.. Iv got one as my practice amp and it
works well enough Has some good cleans and some good heavy metal.. worth taking a look at, its loud
for a 30watt, there is a 50 watt version too I like the effects for a modelling amp, they are 'standards'
of the real things so you get a really good idea of what the effect is all about without them going crazy
and putting you off before you even get started. Im not certain but i think its cheaper than the others..
What do you want the amp for? Practice/Backup/Gigging/Recording?
Thanks for the reply Rob, I've played on a VT and I must say they are very nice (especially since they have
those song pre-sets and few extra amp models that the AD never had but that being said I still want to get
away from the VOX range, not that there is anything wrong with them but just simply because I want to try
something new. Try and improve my gear knowledge in the process. I mainly need the amp for bedroom practice
so 30W should be ample. Like I said it's going to be mostly for Metal music so I need something that will do that
well (and not destroy my bank balance either).
