i found this A/B test online and loved it .......... of course i have my favourite but not telling till the post has run a while..............

Would have been easier if he played the same song!

I am quite sure each song has its own dynamics... so I don't quite know if I just liked the song, the video, the recording or if the guitar really just sounded so much richer than the others...

yeah i agree Brent the same song woulda been good...........

and another slight inconsistancy is that the mic used in the torres demo seems closer slightly and also the mic holder is different in that take and possibly the mic too.guess one had to sumise the torres was only available on a specific day ......... sure a rare guitar like that would be quite strictly acess controlled...... but it's definitely the same room HOWEVER i still feel you can hear the tones of the individual guitars quite clearly as all 4 are quite distinctively different even if maybe there is inconsistancy with volume ect due to dynamic inconsistancy or mic placement but the general idea is still good and no debate these are all top end great sounding guitars but just all have different tones.............

so this is more a listener preference to proving which is best

below is some useless info or not depending on your likes......
but wow playing a 1890 torres must be such an experience no matter what one thinks of the tone................for those who don't know Torres was the luthier who made the final adjustments in design to give us the classical guitar as we know it today...his design and came up with a specific and funtional bracing system and is seen as the 1st of the classical guitar as we know it and it's changed little since then............ however guitars with various numbers of strings and many earlier bracing and structural design have been around for hundreds of years before . before 6 strings became popular there was 10 string guitars where the strings were in pairs called courses so effectively a 5 string but double string guitar.....and so on .......... also just before torres finalised the design whci is popular now ......6 string versions were used called romantica guitars with smaller bodies not unlike parlour guitars with 620 mm scale length not the standard 650to 660 mm we use today these romantica guitars are what great guitar composers like Sor used........ so yes this torres is a rare guitar still being playable and only about 30 yrs younger than the date given for torres's design which is credited to around 1860 so an 1890 is almost a 1st generation Torres ...awesome awesome........

I don't know how you an compare them. The mic on the Torres is different, closer to the guitar and aiming down, so the room acoustic is different. Why did they do this?
Having said that however;
I like the warmth and clarity of the Torres,
The Ramirez is too bright for me - thin sounding
The Fleta is muddy - very flat with a bass overemphasis
The Hill Signature, whilst bright, has excellent definition.

Same thinking here!

I also would have thought some simple, strong arpeggios and chords would have been the best demonstration of the actual tone of each guitar, rather than the quick little rolls he's using.

The Ramirez & Hill I eliminated first, but thats my problem with picking the best guitar here.. I doubt they are 'bad' guitars.

I would rather say that my favorite recording was the Torres, amazing depth and wonderful balanced, full sound.

and what an amazing player too ?

I just can't tell yet. The Torres sounds like there is very little nail...weird.

Maybe he should have played the same piece with the same mic & position like others said.
