My gear (comments and suggestions are welcome!)

Currently struggling to get a nice sound out of my gear. I think its mostly to do with my amp, since my guitar is rated highly by everyone I've met who knows of it, and my pedal is pretty sweet. Then again, maybe its the INF pickups (going for EMG 81/85's real soon.) I dunno.
Anyway, here's my stuff! :

Love your gear dude ?
I'm sure with a few tweaks you should have your sound in no time. Its a pretty versatile guitar and i've only heard good things about the zoom. Since i've got a used and abused zoom (not even close to what you've got) i've managed to get some decent sounds out of it. I'll try and post some settings for you to try out. What sorta sound are you going for? And IMO, the INF pups lose a bit of clarity at a certain stage.
Keep well.

Cheers

I know for a fact that I'd enjoy a .. I think the word is saturated.. or is that the term for the bad kind, I dunno....distortion. Something real crunchy and..err.. system-shocking, for lack of a better description. Something along the lines of the first BFMV album, or even heavier, like say As I Lay Dying...or even In Flames... I enjoy rhythm guitar over lead, but if I could get a sweet lead tone, I definitely wouldn't complain. Those standards are way too high, I know, but that's my eventual goal. For now, I'd even settle with a Senses Fail or The Used sound (I want to stay away from that style, but that kind of guitar tone is probably the easiest to reach with my stuff at the moment.)

As you can probably guess, still in school here.. Grd12. Haven't reached that "maturity stage" I've heard about on other forums, where I start listening to Jazz or Blues artists and the like. When that happens, I'll start working for another guitar. I'm in this for the long haul ?

I already mentioned in another thread, but I'd suggest getting the EMG set but instead putting the 85 in the bridge and 81 in the neck. Your body is quite thin so should be you tone (theoretically) the 85 is will give you r guitar more body for awesome chugging palm mutes.

@ Still_Missing:
In flames = Gibson guitars > 5150 red channel > Mesa rectifier v30 cab.
BFMV = ESP guitars > Maxon 808 > 5150 > Mesa rectifier v30 cab
As I lay Dying = Fernades guitars > Maxon OD820 > Krank rev 1 > Mesa rectifier v30 cab (old)
AILD (latest) = Maxon > Randall RM100 > Mesa v30

You could only really get a saturated tone from a tube amp, Their lead tones are a similar setup with a the neck PU

Thanks Dean. I had no idea that's what the guys used (apart from BFMV, I have Live at Brixton sitting in front of me right now ?)
Now I know what I'm saving for ? I've heard only good things of the ESP guitars, and the Peavey 6505.
I'll definitely go for those EMG's. I've been planning to do that this week actually.
