Hi People
Just downed GR4 DEMO and instaslled it.
I can hear the guitar thru the speakers connected to sound card.
But I just get the clean unmodulated guitar sound, like GR is doing nothing.
I have tried loading various combinations of amps/effects, but still nada.
Here is my set-up:
Mecer PC Dual-core
Realtech integrated soundcard
Zoom effects g9.2tt
ASIO4ALL installed
I set up GR FOR ASIO, and it sees the ASIO4ALL driver.
Headphone o/p from Zoom into LI of s/card
I have a MIDISPORT MIDI i/f that I could connect between the PC and Zoom , should that work?
Also have USB from Zoom to PC available, should that work?
Is there a magic button that needs to be activated for GR to work?
TIA to the guru who can help.

First you need to turn of direct monitoring in your ASIO control Panel - that will stop the clean sound.
Then in Guitar Rig, click the button to activate the input you are using (usually Left) - on left hand side of the input level meter. That should do it.

Thanks, I tried that an the clean sound persists, and no GR modulation of the signal.
The ASIO4ALL driver told me that computers do not like me when I turned everything ON.
So I turned evrything off.
Then I notice the level meters stopped working in GR.
So I turned things on and off one by one leaving the logical ones on, as before.
The ASIO control panel does not appear to have a "direct monitoring" on/off selection.
I already tried the L/R button on the side of the level meter, but that makes no change.
Feeling a bit like my newbie Malawian gardener who did not know how to remove the grass clippings box from the 'ol lawnmower.
LOL
The GR "expert" @ TOMS could not help either, just wanted to sell me a sound card for a grand. LOL

Thanks again for your input. I got it working after a cup of strong coffee. No rocket science required. LOL
Like negative latency, the note plays before I strike the string. Now that's not bad for a R50 integrated sound card, I guess.
Some really realistic sounds coming out.
Happy days.

Sorry - missed your earlier response somehow, but glad you came right since.

Yeap, I had no idea that the sound coming out the SC's front speaker can be different to the LO from the back. LOL
I'm like a puppy with 2 tails, don't know which one to wag.
And driving the LI to max gets rid of noise.
