Melodic Metal for the Soul

This isn't me, or my band (that doesn't exist ☹ ).

I know one of the guys in the band, the bassist/backup vocalist, he was at my place once and he made my cheap Ibanez guitar and 10w amp sound like a gift from god.

This band has since broken up, but they gave out their music freely to my friend before they did. I've got a copy of everything they produced - tabs, recordings, lyrics, posters etc.

This is my favourite melodic metal song ever:

Not a big fan of the vocals, but the music is bloody awesome. My missus likes the whole thing !

Are they from your neck of the woods ? (My family farmed down there till my Grandpa past away !)

They're from Bloemfontein. The member I mentioned lived in Port Alfred around the same time I was staying there.
We don't get metal 'round these parts!

I loved the track! brilliantly played... The guitar parts rocked, i actually really enjoyed the vocals too.. But that's because i like that kinda thing from time to time.. ?

Very clean playing on lead, good stuff. Band's tight too. Would work really well live I bet, it's kinda straightforward riffing so it'll still be followable with the usual bad sound in most venues, but lots of melodic leads that keep it interesting.

Very tight band indeed. My only complaint on this song was the solo - sounded very out to me (from about 2:54). Apart from that I'm quite impressed. 8)
