Thought I'd share these babies side by side as they really are something special to me. The LP my wife bought me last year for my 30'th bday. It's a 94 model according to the serial and we bought it from a shop where it has been hanging for 15 years until we picked it up. I remember I visited the shop a few years ago and even remember this guitar, but only thought about it after I got it, but I also remember the previous owner who never allowed anyone to touch anything. The shop changed hands recently before my birthday last year and got it for at least a 60% of the original price it was hanging for. Obviously some kids had their hands on it since the new owners entered, but I stripped her down and buffed her up into this condition. Anyway, I just love this guitar, even though it's "bland" and plain studio model, but those 490 & 498 really do it for me.
But the original reason was actually to show the other one that I got about a week ago in a trade of an amp in it's original Ibanez hardcase. Did it somewhat blindly, but I read a lot of good things of the(now discontinued) Ibanez Iceman, IC400 series, guitars. And ever since I've got it I am just astonished about how good it sounds, plays and feels in your hands. It's extremely light, compared to the LP, but comfy and even though it is just a tad less hot than the LP, the tone is very close. will post some A/B recordings of the two in the near future. But what I wanted to know if any of you guys have had some experience with the IC400's and would love to hear your comments on the Ibanez.
As I said I'll post some pics of my other gear soon. Just waiting to get my acoustic back from having a fret job done.
PS: The pic looks photochopped as it is. I just blurred the background as the detail of the books somehow made the guitars not to stand out as much. And I was afraid someone might laugh at "Mikrogolf Wenresepte" volumes 1 & 2 ?
