Does anyone know where one can buy enamelled copper wire at 42 AWG for making pickups, preferably located in Cape Town.
I checked at yebo and communica, they only sell 0.1mm and above (42 AWG is 0.063mm).

I'm about construct a pickup from scratch soon.
Checkout wst.co.za The Cape Town branch is in Parden Eiland, there are a couple of branches nationwide too.
The kind I need is 42 guage (0,0635mm), single build polyurethane nylon insulated, solderable winding wire, which is what most of us will want.
They're out of stock at the moment, I was told to check back in 3 or 4 weeks.
Last time I asked for a quote was quite a while ago, it was around R280 for a +-500g reel, I could be mistaken.
I will confirm that soon as they get more stock, and get a new quote.
Bare in mind that other branches might have stock still, if they do, fill us in on the price if you get a quote.
I'm going to be sourcing all the parts for my pu build locally. Our local magnet suppliers (Magnatech, Magnets 4 u) do have a limited variety, but I have been thinking of methods to make do with what they have, and will share them if need be.
