Looking for an Orange

My friend's old man is looking for an Orange amp and asked me where would be the best place to look - apart from Gumtree etc, would you guys know which stores offer the best range or prices?

I was at Marshall Music Woodmead yesterday.

A HUGE range of Orange amps, and just about two of every amp too. ?

Yeah Marshall just unpacked all their Orange stuff. The little orange head is R8K!!! I was asking Gordon why and then I tried to lift it up.

Does he want valve or solid state? The orange valve amps are amazing, i used to own a 1972 Orange OR120 ( 120watt ) amp. Sounded amazing ...

I think he is first trying to guage what the band needs, but does not mind spending more on something that would sound and work better for longer.

They are currently gigging, typical Afrikaans slow-rock.

Valve amps always sound better and will work longer also ?

I got a Tiny Terror 15 W Combo (all valve) ... paid 7 k for it ...awesome amp ... so far no problems with it and even though 15 w sounds wimpish volume wise this thing is louder than my previous cube 60 w. i specifically went for this as it has very few "knobs" so spend more time playing than setting things up ..some may find this a constraint.

The orange stuff is good kit ,does come at a premium though. my next orange will be dual channel head an cab but thats in the distant future now (gotta get those 6 numbers right first) ... a guy i know bought the orange bass terror 500 w .... man that sounds oh so sweet

The SS amps i have not much knowledge on but am wanting the lil 6 watter to stuff around with ...hoping marshall can import one or i pick one up next time i am in blighty

The best orange,IMO,is the thunderverb 50(not as dark as the 100w version)
Fender cleans,really,and the OD is divine,very unique...but really expensive

The model that's replacing the rocker30 has been/will be released soon,is a cross between the rocker and the thunder series...should be interesting

I got a AD30(witch is the more vintage sounding range) from marshall when they had there big sale,the price was better then what they sell for in the US...it was at 50% discount thou...
