Hey guys

So I've finally bought something other than a super budget guitar. An Epiphone Les Paul Custom. A budget guitar ?

Pretty decent condition. Gotta clean up all the gold.. Got some kinda waxy build up ??? Slight chip on the back binding. Sounds decent, needs new strings BADLY.. Same waxy build up.

Here she is - although I still need to decide if I'm keeping her. All I can say is... HOOOOTOTOTTT!!!

No need to swear Mike ? just get a damp cloth or even a piece of wet toilet paper and wipe along the grain. Comes right off.

? I tried Windolene and a load of elbow grease but it only shined it up. The build up is quite heavy and waxy. Will have to try some other things.

If water does not work you could try paraffin imho, go easy on the stuff. If on fretboard, get a dedicated cleaner. You could also try (very carefully) with a sharp scraper blade perpendicular to the board.
