So , is it just me ? , or are you guys that have one also a bit dissapointed with the Polytune ?

My gripes :
Display is a bit small........could have been manufactured with bigger leds , more spread out , imo.
Excellent concept , but I find that doing a tuning check by means of a 'quick strum at an opportune moment' is not exactly working out the way that I thought it would......ie after tweaking for the leds to more or less stabalise on green , the guitar then sounds out of tune , then when I check each string separately at least 2 or 3 are in fact out and have to be retuned .... ☹ , so whats the big deal then >☹

mmmm ,...... :-\ , maybe i should have waited for the next generation............or is it just me expecting more than it actually offers ?

I've found it works pretty well with the quick strum thing...

...but...

I too have found that the polytune mode will say all strings are 100%, then I strum a chord and something sounds wrong, check individually and all is not quite well...Not sure if there is a way to configure the accuracy of the polytune mode, but it is a bit disappointing, will keep a weather eye on it.

Hmm... I want answers on this before I rush out and buy. I have a polytune fund going on. It'd be a dead pity if it doesn't work as advertised.

Thanks for this feedback ouens. I have also been like on the verge of going to get one - it's sort of been a toss between this and the tu-3 which also got happy things from musicradar.

I must say, I to have noticed that the polytune function is not dead on. However, when the guitar is in tune and and does slip out of it while gigging and you notice it, a quick strum and the polytune function does at least alert you to which string it is and is better than guessing. The tuner will most likely have firmware updates in the future so my guess is that they will sort this out.

I found a way stranger issue. When I give the guitar a slight strum while the tuner is on, there's a slight bit of noise that escapes into the amp. Im talking a very very slight bit of noise, I never noticed it while gigging, but the other day while directly in front of my amp i heard it. And when you mute the strings again, the noise stops. Any one else noticed this?

I haven't noticed any noise from mine. Will listen closely for that.

As for the strumming thing ,I'm rather relieved its not only me . :-[

Maybe you strum , wait a bit longer , let the leds settle , .....only once settled completely , ( just before they disappear) , then tweak as indicated........I'm going to try that method :-\

I love my PolyTune.

Interesting to see that some guys are struggling to tune properly.

The only gripe I have is that it doesn't have the 'sweetened' guitar tuning like my Peterson.
But I would still have this on my pedalboard, cause it works, its easy to use, and it is really accurate on the chromatic side..
use the Poly function to quickly tune or use it as a reference to go back to the individual string that is being recalcitrant! ?

Anyway... Just thought I would put my views out there, I think this is a great tuner (AND I have a Peterson) and I think it is a keeper...

- and for those of you that are not keen on a polytune... It has to be a Peterson or a Turbo Tuner... ?

picked up mine yesterday ..works a treat ...no noise and no discernable difference when added to the pedal chain.

no problem at all , immidiately gives me a heads up to which string needs attention and then focus on it.

no problems with the legibility either ....

great addtion ... i did a lot of research and my end decision was either this or the Korg (price,functionality, user friendliness taken into account) ..Korg was on backorder whereas the polytune was in store so got one...

not sad that i did ...

Right, feedback!

Using mine at every practice still, and must say things are 100%. Previous dodgy results seemed to be a crap patch cable.

Polytune has been nice and accurate, and the chromatic tuner has always worked perfectly.

So yes, would definitely recommend it.

I'm not saying the polytuning feature is out all the time , its just that I now reckon the intensity of the test strum definitely has something to do with this , imo.....something i'll have 'fine tune' :-[
