I'm not going to get all long winded on the topic.
I just find it appalling that the so called professionals can be so naive as to think that mere music can have an influence of that magnitude. Weigh up music and the severity thereof and then do the same with pre-med murder, taking a human life... It just doesn't measure up.
Sure music can do weird and wonderful things, but for it to take the wrap for murder in the first...?
Blame the parents for not hugging him enough, or hugging him too much. Blame society and the evolution of communication... Blame the little runt himself FFS!
I hate the way that the misinformed are very quick to shift the blame onto something they don't fully understand... Stereotypes FTMFL!!!

Got ya back on that Spyke
I've never figured out how society at large can nod their heads and agree each time a sensless crime is committed and music, or the internet or Harry Potter is blamed.
Even if there was any proof to this someone tell me how scary it is when a rock band has more influence than the head of the household how messed up was that household to begin with. It's very simple you raised a little monster when you decided to stop being a parent and trusted the tv, movies and peers to raise ya kids. A well raised kid is not gonna go off his nut cos that's what they told him to do on the radio ffs.

I'll blame it on the damn NINJAS!!!!
The main problem is the americans with their violent movies.
Only abused and tormented people would be able to watch SAW 3 without having a problem with it!!

What ever happended to the ninja turtles, when i was still gowing up, i was told that it is a satanic cartoon?
No one seems to have a problem with it know!!! ???

Id like to see what happens if a hijacker claims kwaito music made him kill that family of 4 for their suv >☹

+1 to all of you.
Mike, your parental comment is particularly just.

Don't get me started on the TMNT thing cos apparently Noddy was a homosexual along with the Tele tubby with the bedroom eyes. And y'all better watch out cos apparently there are a coupla seminal rock recordings that are filled with satanic messages if you play them backwards. If these parents really believe this BS why don't they do something about it before things go horribly wrong or spend some time with their kids instead of on the soap box ignoring the fact that it's their responsibility to raise their kids.
But on the Saw thing all i have to say is you reap what you sow as an adult i choose what i watch and what i don't. I'm not a big fan of these gory flicks so i don't watch em. I used to work at the cinema do you know how many times I've had to explain to some parent that it's not in their best interest to let their 12 year old watch the brand new slasher movie with the 18 age restriction and normally i'd get verbally abused for my troubles. So ja that's my 2 cents

Music contributes to ones frame of mind.
You have to be in a murderous frame of mind before you kill...Thats why its called premeditated!
It is definately not musics fault......Blame the parents!
Your kid does drugs...or drinks before theyre eighteen..its your fault...If they go on a muderous rampage at school ....its your fault!!
The video game industry has the same problem.

Those damn pan flute CDs they play in restaurants are pretty damn offensive. They make me want get violent, but so far I've managed to control myself ?

A kid went to school last week with 3 samurai swords.beheaded a class mate and injured 2 groundskeepers.
He just happened to be wearing a slipknot type mask and when the cops asked him why he did it he said"Satan told me if i didnt kill today I would be killed"
The parents immediatly jumped up and said "He was listening to that satanic Slipknot music that must have been why he did it!"
Boo hoo frikkin hoo
Parents = Epic Fail!

Lawl.. in all honestly.. there is such a serious lack of accountability in this situation or in the country for
that matter.. People by human nature find solace in blaming other people for thier actions..
And its the same situation in Sport, Politics, Jus about any controversial topic you can find..
Bottom line with the crazy ninja wanna be, is that he is accountable for his actions, and his parents are
accountable for those actions to an extent.. Root starts at proper parenting.. no kid is born a psycopath..
and its ridiculous that they blame slipnot for this incident.. condolenses to the family.. but seriously.. all i
can see from this situation is good publicity for the new slipknot album.. which is out at the end of this
month...
btw. did u guys check the new masks out.. they rock.. \m/

Although I personally find some of the lyrics and sentiments expressed by Slipknot and others to be tacky and just not my bag, I believe that art imitates life not the other way round. I think our social mentors parents, teachers and mostly our political "leaders" must take the rap for these acts of moral degradation - At this point I would like to observe a minutes silence for the victims followed by the hymn of our new republic -Umshini Wam

ROFL ?
I remember when Gummie Bears were evil...
I agree with the whole parenting aspect. It seems that nowdays parents take very little interest in what their kids do, and get great relief from off-loading them at any opportunity into shopping malls to be brought up by Mxit and Hollywood. The world needs solid parenting cuz it seems to have been chucked out the window.

From what I've read the media are making the most of comments from one Pierre Eksteen, Krugersdorp community leader.
I reckon the only people blaming Slipknot and the devil here are Pierre and other small-minded fellows from the small town.

Has anyone else seen the amazon uk ads for slipknot albums at the bottom of the page?
Hehehehehe!
