Hi all ?

Not quite NGD yet - but I've secured an early 1970's Ibanez Les Paul copy (with the lawsuit headstock), which I should be receiving next week. Still has original pickups in working condition.

I got it for a steal as there is some work needed on the guitar (the tross rod broke, which damaged the back of the neck). Can anyone recommend me a luthier in the Stellenbosch/Cape Town area who'd be able to do such a repair? i.e. remove&replace truss rod, glue back of neck back on, respray?

I'm very excited - will definitely post some pics next week..

Wow. By the sounds of it you must have got it really cheap (in fact I'm not sure that any money should have changed hands at all for it ?). Early '70s? Bolt-on neck LP Custom Type?

Lol yep ? While I probably won't sell it I'm sure I can make a profit after repairs.

I hope for your sake you don't lose money. Luthiers charge by the hour and that is a lot of work. You can try Foster van der Merwe 021 9395259 (plattekloof)
