TomCat As some of you may have picked up in another thread, we are in the process of recording Mariann's first album. It has been both an interesting and exciting project. We are now about 50% through the recording of tracks with 6 songs down except for drums and Bass and another four that need to still get off the ground. The album is primary a contemporary Christian album, but we wanted it to be a little different from what is currently out there. The album id basically piano and guitar driven. Here is a list of what we are using to put this together: Mics: 1 x Shure SM-27 Condenser with Popper Stopper: (Vocals, Acoustic etc) 1 x Shure Beta 56A for Amps etc 2 x AKG C451 for Percussion and general instrument recording Hardware: Tascam FW1884 Firewire interface / DAW Controller Macbook Intel JBL LSR 2325P Monitors Samson Headphone Amp Host Software: Reaper Plugins: Virtual Grand Piano Zebra Softsynth Hammond B3 Organ Izotope Ozone Mastering Module (Exceptional plugin and essential for mastering) We are not quite there yet with everything we need but the results so far are very encouraging and am very happy with the quality of the recordings we are getting considering that we are using our lounge to record the album in. I'll take a few pics soon and post here as well.
