NGD: Silver Cort X5

I decided to buy a decent playing 24 fret fixed bridge guitar as a practice guitar to save fretwear on my other guitars. This guitar seems to fit the bill... ?
Picked this Cort X5 up today. Very good overall condition and basically zero fretwear... Does anyone have experiences with this guitar and maybe know what they cost new and/or are worth?

My first impression is that the guitar has a great neck and fretsize... Very comfortable imo. I am about to do a mini service and setup after which I'll plug her in for the first time. What do you guys think?

Hi Zark. I have the Cort X-6, which I'm sure has exactly the same body contour and neck. For me it is one of my most playable guitars, both in terms of action and just the way it sits on the body. I spent many hours with it on stage, as it was my first performance guitar. Does the X5 also have the toggle switch so you can go between different pick-up combos? If so, play around - you'll find some great blends!

I must agree my X5 has a great feel and action. After a quick check on the Cort website, the only difference between the X5 and X6 is that the 5 has a fixed bridge and the 6 has a floyed rose type trem. The X5 has 5 way pup selectors and a coil tap to split the humbuckers into single coils -a definite plus in my books...

So far I'm impressed by the playability -will check out her tone later after servicing. Just wondering what they're retailing for and worth second hand?

Bought mine 2nd hand for R 1 500 a few years back. I have'nt checked retail lately, though.

I quite lke these.. I never really bothered with cort and then at my local converters found the X Custom!!

Paid in R1500 and now I am using itas a project guit. Loved the feel of thing.. As soon as the nitrocellulose finshes curing, i'll put her back together and post some pics..

she has an awesome birdseye maple neck..

Very spanky indeed. I'm very impressed with my newly acquired Corts. I'm saving the frets on my main guitars. Picked up both my Corts for substantially less than 1 professional refret job... ???
