I saw you mention Richard and Linda Thompson there Bob - you obviously hold them in high regard. I didn't know I have actually enjoyed them in Fairport Convention years back (ignoramus I am) so I quickly googled her - Linda and came up with this. It's so moving just had to share! So simple and pure. Sandy Denny is amazing I love her.

Ja. That's a lovely performance. At that time they were doing very stripped down things - just two voices and the guitar. There's some fab recordings from that period, one of my favourites is their version of "The Dark End Of The Street".
Linda's story is remarkable. By the late 70s she was increasingly having trouble with her pitch. This got worse and worse and eventually she lost her singing voice completely in the mid 80s. Dysphonia - which wasn't well understood back then. These days she records and makes occasional live performances, but this requires botox shots into the vocal chords. Eina! She's made two pretty good albums in the 2000s, though they take her a while to make and she has no support from a major label.
