PRS 513 on the back-burner. NUGD!

I am such a sucker for Fender Strats. So now this means I'm going to have to wait (and save) a bit longer for my PRS 513...... ☹

So it's New (Unnecessary) Giutar Day!!! Yep, the TOMS sale.......... ?

But I'm happy.........new day, new toy, more fun...........the image below is pretty much my new USA Standard Strat. Will post actual pics soon.

Ash Body with Maple neck........ I love maple necks..........

? What happened to your disdain for sunbursts? Why is this not MY guitar? What is going on here?

Hahahaha........this one "spoke to me", Strat........i had to succumb!!!! LOL!!!!

ZarK

If you love tone you have to have at least one Fender in the collection. I love tone and I don't have a Fender at present. (Sold all mine over the years for Ibanez guitars.) My dream Strat which I'll probably have to order from their custom shop would be a standard with rosewood neck, modern parts, SSS pups and in a bright metallic blue body finish. Very HotRod imo. I shall own one some day...... ?

Congrats on your new babe!

Loooooovely!

Aubs, this is bordering on the criminal now! Are you aware of your condition?? ?

aubs1

Thanx guys.........

@ZarK.........the idea is to get the Standards, then customize them to what would be "my" custom guitar.

"......Own one, one day".........yes you will.........everyone should at some time in their life own a Strat, or two, or three.......... ?

Hahahahaha.........more like psychiatric........I think I need to have my head read..........but not yet, I'm not quite done.......PRS513!!!!! ? ?

Nice Aubs... Very nice.

singemonkey

Not a difficult choice. ? Enjoy. Post pics.

I suspect I'll also have one one day. Probably an eighties Japanese '57 reissue with a maple board. That'd suit me just fine. My excuse would be that I don't have a guitar with a maple fretboard :? (then I'll have to get a guitar with black bell knobs - I don't have one of those. Ooh. And a guitar with an ashtray bridge, and a...)

infernox

What did they have on speical?

aubs1

Thanx, Don.........

LOL..........it's all so much fun!!!

infernox wrote What did they have on speical?

Infernox........they have LOTS and LOTS of stuff........the Ibanez GB10s were like almost half price (and all their Ibanez, less 30-40%) ......

I did not look at the "lower end" stuff ............. but the shop was packed, I can only imagine what it's gonna be like 2morrow!!!

Bottomline............everything is on special........ ?

Even more reason to visit you Aubs!

It's true. You been counting as well? ?

Sean

You're an open book Aubs. Enjoy the new guitar ?

singemonkey

Sean, I've been meaning to ask... who took you profile pic. Fantastic. Should be passed on to the grandkids for when they finally care ?

Sean

Ilse took it. I'll pass on the compliment. She entered some of her work into the Sasol Signatures Art competition and was notified on Wednesday that she's a finalist, pretty excited about that ?

No, I just wanted an interesting photo, it was more about a particular facial expression I wanted to do, but I couldn't pull it off ( and no, I wasn't going for "Blue Steel" ? ) In the end, this one was the closest to the one I was imagining :-[

Absolutely ?
