Dan Patlansky Guitar Weekend!

Hi Guys

Im brand new to this forum. Im a huge Dan Patlansky fan and Ive just heard his doing a guitar weekend at the end of the year. Im super keen to check it out. Anyone know how much it costs?

It's R1800 for the weekend including "basic" accommodation (ie in dorms) and meals. I'm quite tempted, would just like to hear from someone who was there last time...

I've been to two, the first one was at the begginning of last year, and the second in December. All I can say is that it was one hell of a time. For 4 days we stayed in a backpapers type vibey place and jammed, talked gear and had a jol. Brent was there too, and a couple 'a other gents. It was and is quite a bash!

What did you have to bring to the weekend gear wise, and do you need to be at a certain level to attend?

Yeah I have been to two of them.
Great fun, amazing group of guys, wonderful players, wonderful stories, Great fun no matter how good you are... or think you are ?

No level required, but it does help to know all the basic chords and more (obviously) and your pentatonic scales as a minimum.

Take along some clothes, a toiletries, a guitar, acoustic or electric, an amp and jam along...

Sadly I wont make this next one... ☹

Highly recommended for any guitar player of any skill levels!

I really wana go this year, starting up this thread again, anybody went to one of these weekends recently? I'ts in the freestate hey? Gona have to take a roadtrip up from pe.

Not sure its on this year, no confirmation yet....funny thing i asked dan on hisFB page this morning, we wait n see.

Reading through some old threads i saw he had one in knysna,that'll be awesome, much closer to drive.
I'm a big fan of his music, will be cool to see it up close and personal

Just spoke to Dan an yes there will be 1 in Cape Town at some point
