Strat Clean tone?

I was messing about with my strat. I like a nice quiet tone from them and I think this is pretty darn close to what I want.

Thoughts?

I used my GT8 with no preamp, compressor, EQ, Delay, Reverb, and Vibrato. into my Vox VT50 mic'd with a shure PG58. Recorded on the BR600 with no effects.

The lead tone is just the neck pickup of my strat with the same settings

What pup/s did you select.
I liked the growl of the bass strings but found the top end a little lacking in 'sizzle'. But that's just me - must have something to do with aging and losing my hearing at anything above 6K. ?

Interesting - you've managed to get a very acoustic-like body on the sound (short delay or cranked early reflections on the reverb with a bit of EQ?). It does lack a bit on the high end definition though. Nice for this but might get a bit mushy in a busier piece (pulling back on low mids or pulling the reverb/delay down a bit would help with that if needed). Nice... ?

A good clean sound but still lacking sizzle on top. How far away is your mic from the speaker and is your eq on the amp flat?
