Ok, since it's Friday and no one feels like working, let's fantasize a bit. Let's say some rich uncle dies and leaves you everything...suddenly you're very, very rich and have more money than you can spend in a lifetime.. 8).. What guitars, gear etc. would you get?

My fantasie would be that somewhere in my family line there is royal blood involved, like i'm related to elvis or eddie van halen, then i could just inherit all the guitars and amps.

Guitars, I'm good. Maybe a top classical guitar.

I'd probably invest in a few amps. Some old ones: Vox AC30TB, Plexi Marshall, Fender Princeton, Deluxe and Twin. A couple of new ones too: Deacey, Dumble and DR. Z.

Wanna bet? The studio: SSL console, Urei compressors, Lexicon Reverbs and delays, a few mil's worth of mics and mic pres, full Protools and Radar rigs. And a studio to house it all.

Oh gawd I dunno hey, I'd prolly buy a wharehouse and line the walls with Marshall stacks (for looks) and get every other amp ever built and prolly all the vintage guitars in the world! Gawd where would one start!!

Guitars - I'd have some custom made for me! Some electrics and classicals. Ratcliffes maybe? :P I can think of a few Hamers, PRS, Collings, Vigier, Suhr, Grosh & Tom Andersons I'd probably get, just because I can. Amps - JTM 45, Bassman, Dumble, Budda, Matchless, a ton of Vintage Vox, MESA, MI Audio, Matamp, THD... Effects - Everything ever made by ZVEX, Effector 13, Devi Ever, OohLaLa (check out the pic below), Catalinbread, FOXX, Moog and a ton of vintage Dallas Range Masters and Fuzzes. Don't even get me started on the studio...

One thing I would definitely do, is hop on a plane and attend one of those guitar workshops in the States where guys like Joe Walsh, etc. often are instructors. And while I'm there buy myself a Custom Shop Fender Strat. And attend the Crossroads Guitar Festival... 8)
Yep, won't even begin with the studio stuff....

Yep I also don't want to work today. At least I have a small gig tonight where I get to play my own stuff. Riaan, if I inherited all that money, I would buy that RG that Francis is looking at ?

I guess the feelings unanimous. I'm not that busy but I have to be on site till around 14:30, so I guess I'm the lucky one.

If I were rich I would hold a concert for me and my friends (Present company included) in my back yard and hire all our favourite bands/musicians with one condition, that we get to jam with them. I can just see myself playing my sucky riffs while Slash tears it up right next to me ? It would be a beautifull thing.

ABSOLUTELY! It WOULD be a beautiful thing! Ag no man, my bosses went out to get KFC and I already ate and I have all this code to write while my guitars are alone at home....it's WRONG. I wonder what our country would have been like if we had a serious muso for a president....

Oh...very good point. I was thinking more along the lines of Joe Satriani or Conrad Pienaar maybe....

First 3 purchases would go like this though:

1.) Gibson Silver burst

2.) Schecter Tempest Custom(In white of course)

3.) Les Paul Gibson Custom

But seriously - I'd go the custom guitar route and buy the amp that Macaulay Culkin plays in Michael Jacksons Black or White...!

But definitely organize a gig where I can play with The Offspring and Bad Religion and maybe go ape with Rammstein

I emailed Dave Weiner (Spelling?) who is the 2nd guitarist for the Steve Vai band coz I figured Vai wouldn't answer me.... Anyway I asked him what the chances of an SA tour would be and he said it is a matter of SA promoters coming up with the right money. I think he could have some concerts here. Virgil Donati's clinics were packed.
