HELP! Power Supply woes!

Does anyone know of any place in South Africa where you can buy a 15V DC power supply?
Its for a Radial tonebone Hot British - 15V @ 400 mA is wats needed.

I lost it at a gig and for the last 4 weeks I have been searching every electronics shop in town and they look at me as if I have crawled out of cheese when I request a 15V power supply!

The same thing happened when I lost my 12V AC supply for Ibanez tube king - that was a mission hey~! I really should not buy non 9V pedal ever - it just complicates things

I have bought 2 of those switching power supplies, set them at 15V but then it still dont work, I think at that voltage on a switching adapter, the mA is too low to power the tonebone!

So does anyone know where I can get this unit - If it has to be ordered and couriered Im fine with that - I will order 3 just do I dont have these woes anymore! ☹

Beware though, as you will need to be sure of polarity and change it if necessary by cutting off the plug and soldering on a new one.

Not sure about pedals specifically, but in some instances, getting the polarity wrong could release the hidden smoke most electrical devices contain. Once the smoke is gone, the device generally doesn't work. Sometimes it's possible with specialist knowledge to get the smoke back in there and the device working, but not always.

Best to make double sure you get the polarity right first time out ?

It won't damage the power supply (although it'll invalidate the warrantee). Most pedals have protection against incorrect polarity - they just won't work, but no damage will ensue. Just make sure what the pedal needs and if it needs (the fairly standard) centre negative, you'll need to put a new plug on and reverse wire it (stock the Mantec is centre +). A new plug and two minutes work with a soldering Iron is all it takes.

Re power supplies, I have a T-Rex Fuel Tank that has served my EVERY pedal need (incl new Line6 M9 which everyone said it wouldn't power - blue cable, people, blue cable!). 15v is obviously an issue, but the Fuel Tank does 18v & 12v and there's a new one called 'Chameleon' that looks promising. Bomb a mail off to T-Rex and ask them if it can run a Tonebone. Maybe, just maybe, you can take care of the issue with one solution.

The Shure Wireless Receiver PSU's are 15V 650mA. I use one to power my Pedalboard through a 9V regulator. Works wonderfully.
