Out of interest which Voodoo supply were you looking at? Last time I checked the Pedal Power 2 was not that much cheaper than the asking price on the Cioks DC-10? If the DC is too much for you, there is also the Schizophrenic, which is pretty much half the cost and has switchable 9 and 12V rails on outlets 1-5, and outlet 6 has fixed 18V or a sweepable voltage rail from 4-14VDC.
As shared I think the Voodoo Labs stuff is great, the CIOKS is just better, independent studies have prooved it, but that said IF the Voodoo Labs is MUCH cheaper (as I shared I can't believe it is) then go that route.
RE the 9V snap, I can't speak for VL, but the Cioks come with one and one can order extras.
RE the patch cables, have a reputable tech make them up for you, don't bother going for the crappy branded stuff, just get a dependable brand like Canare or Mogami, both industry standards with quality jacks from Ampehnol or Neurik, it is far superior and will work out cheaper than a patch cable kit... I saw one at Marshall that allowed you to make up 5 cables for R1,500... a brand I'd never heard of, and the specs were not as good as Mogami or Canare, and for R1,500 a tech could make you more than 5 cables ?
Good luck with your search, either way I'm sure you will find a solution for both your budget and your tone.
Cheers
Matt

I almost took one home from Marshall saturday morning (I just can't spend for the extra on the CIOK ones that Matta's taking orders on). I was about to go for a one spot, but I'm now pretty sold on the Catalinbread Forumla No. 5 pedal which sounds much better at 18V so I'm going with the Voodoo.
The thing that stopped me was that the sales guy wasn't sure that you got 9v battery snaps for pedals without AC in with the Voodoo - I have a FuzzFace and a Vox Wah that need this. The Voodoo lab site says they even provide one. I'm guessing it was just in the packet with the other connectors and the shop guy and I didn't notice it. Anyone know for sure before I go back there?
Secondly, assuming they give me one in the box, am I going to be able to get a second one without importing it at about the same price as the whole power supply?
I'm really hoping I can get it this Saturday and finally stop using whichever pedal I happen to put the 1 working 9v battery I have at any given time into. ?
Also, does anyone have recommendations for a set of patch cables that offer bang-for-buck? I've got a couple of old horrible ones. I want a set to accomodate about 6-8 pedals that are better but won't cost R1,000 each.
