Hi Conrad
Keira has some dots that look pretty solid on the top of the neck.
She tunes down and then capos on the first fret, thus moving all the dots one along, quite confusing at first ?
yeah too late you got the job done already...............
but i use usual run of the mill white nail varnish available anywhere (clicks/woolies ect ect) and dot the side of the fretboard NEVER the neck itself........... and the good thing is it stays on permanently i never have to redot and i use my guitars often ........ so no wear issues............
BUT to remove it when i sell a guitar i just use cottonwool and a drop of nail varnish remover and it's gone and the finish is untouched/undrilled...........
cos remember a serious flamenco player who will possibly buy those beautiful spanish made flamenco guitars you and letitia have once you upgrade .. ? and you know you will...........
won't want to buy one with dots if they a purist...............
as i said too late for you now since you done the job . but maybe someone else reading the thread can use this.........
ps white nail varnish is visible on darkest stage.and i apply it carefully by painting some nail varnish on paper 1st then taking a match and using the back not the head dip it in the white nail varnish on the paper and make 1 dot then repeat it......... it gives a pretty convincing dot without the permanance ..so retaining the value of the instrument ..............
