Heard this song the other day on the soundtrack of House. The first half has got some awesome tone, the middle is shit, and the end is interesting again. Let me know what you guys think.

upon listening, I must disagree. I don't like that tone... maybe it's this recording though?

I have one of those little Marshalls you can strap to your belt, and man im pretty sure that will nail this tone. Sounds like some pedals into a small SS amp.

It sounds very similar to the sound I used to get in the '70's. Gibson ES330 switched to bridge PUP into a SolarSound WOW FUZZ pedal into a 35W Meazzi guitar amp with built in tape echo unit. Sorry, but I never liked the sound - always frustrated by it. That pedal killed all the Gibson's tone.

Naah. The guy who started this thread has the same one.

I bought Maggot Brain for a buddy a while back. I have the record on my ipod but I don't listen to it much. Ultimately, I'm a bit surprised that it's so famous as an album. It's got great moments and awesome licks, but it's bookended by self-indulgent rambling - in classic seventies style. Could have used a smidgen less dagga and a soupcon more editing.

Parliament were brilliant in originality and bits and pieces though. Also, kids, no parliament, no chilli peppers.
