Laney Hardcore Max 60 - Any good?

Just came across a classifieds ad for a Laney Hardcore Max 50W for R1000... its 3 years old and according to seller in very good nick.

Should I get it instead of the Roland Cube 15x?

Guys I need a answer quite urgently on this as I need to convince the wife and drive to go view.

R1000 seems a decent price for the amp. As long as it's in good condition and actually working that is 8)

If it's just an amp to start out with then I reckon go for it!!!

The thing thats bothering me is that I cannot find this anywhere on the web.

You know when you type the name of a old roland/marshall you get loads of hits, but with this... im not finding any.

Definitely a GREAT amp!! I had the 30 watt version a few years back (actually it was a friend's, i just never let him have it).. It was awesome.. Solid tone, really solid design! Loved that thing!

It isn't going to be as versatile as the roland, but it'll be a lot louder than a 15 watt. I used to use the 30watt at gigs, mic'd it up and it sounded so great!

If it was near me, i'd probably buy it for R1000! Do it!

Yeah, that is a little worrying.. I tried to find it too, not a whole lot.. This is the one I used to have.

It's called the Laney HCM 30 (hardcore max 30)... Not sure why there's nothing on the HCM 50.. :/

Where's the gumtree add?

I think it must be the 65 watt version with reverb..

Still reckon it's a good deal to start with.

When you start jamming with other people you'll end up wanting/needing something a bit more powerfull anyway. Wait till there's a drummer involved ?

I reckon at least go and check it out. Then, if it's in good nick and working fine....BUY IT!!!

Just because it's your first amp, doesn't mean it shouldn't be a good quality one man! My first amp was a 120 watt crate (I borrowed other people's amps for the first 3 years of playing, i was too poor to buy one ?).. But yeah, this laney is such a great amp!
