So I am about to go this afternoon and finally spend R500 - R700 on
decent mogami cabling and amphenol jacks to get my pedalboard's tone up to par.
I attempted to contact some people to do this for me but no-one has got back to me.
I am going to attempt to make up the cables myself (having never done anything of the sort before)
I was wanting to know if anyone has advise for, anything i should know or be aware of? I dont want to waiste all that cash.
I am in abit of a rush because I will be using the board this weekend and i start a new job (potentially) next week so my time will be very minimal then.

Just make sure you have the following items:
1. Good light to work with
2. A good soldering iron. I presume you know how to solder!
3. Decent pair of side cutters
4. Optional.....A wire stripper....not essential.
5. A Stanley Knife for stripping the outer sheath of the cable
6. A nice big dollop of Press-Stick to hold the plugs with while soldering.
Familiarize yourself with the plugs and how they assemble.......and remember to fit the cable strain and boot of the plug onto the cable before stripping the wires.
And take your time....do not rush it......
Edit: A tip for short cables. First fit a plug to one end of the roll of cable before cutting the cable to length.
The strain relief of the plug will prevent you pulling out the center conductor from the cable when you strip it for the second plug.

What plugs and cable are you buying just out of curiosity.. I need to get me some patch cables too! :O
Everything Tom said was ayoba! Soldering cables isn't easy those, because if you heat the plug up to much it can losen it and then it never really works properly.. That is probably for cheaper plugs though.. Good luck man! ?
