Strat Wirings

Are there any interesting or different wirings for a strat? I have a MIC Squier that I am going to be mucking about with and I though I might try something new.

Is there an easy way to understand how the 5 way strat switch works, in circuit diagram form?
I'm keen on coming up with my own wiring.
I don't need to have two tone controls and maybe I don't need any at all.
I want to get the pleasure of figuring it out myself rather than just soldering to someone else's wiring diagram.

I suppose I need a simple table.
For each switch position from 1 to 5, which of the 8 lugs become connected together?

Try this:

The first (Fender) is your quality CRL or Oak Grigsby 5-way. The Mega S is the Schaller Super Switch and the other two are Asian.

I can really recommend the wiring configuration I posted as below. Only difference is that I have a Dimazio HB in the bridge and not single, I will sort that out in phase 2 and split the bucker …. But she sounds fantastic

My Brother did a great paint job for me, all I need to is get a new pickguard from the Fret shop in PTA, I will post a picture soon

The next position plays the neck and middle pickups in parallel with the bridge pickup in series. Middle position plays the middle pickup in series with the bridge pickup. All I need to do is replace the pickguard, I like the 3 ply white, like the one on the guit, but maybe a tortiose, also my original plan with the switch didnt workout as intended, will doproperly on the new pickguard.

I've wired my strat using the following Alan mods:

With this I've found the middle pickup to be louder and brighter than the neck and bridge ... as expected since it has no tone control.
Would it be possible / sensible / correct to get the middle pickup and bridge pickup to share tone control 2 with an extra wire?
(as shown by poorly drawn purple line)

Tough situation there imo. You want the middle as bright as possible for the in between tones. Not sure if that wiring will work, I don't know how regular strat switches work hehe ? But dmm it up to be sure!
