Rocking the Tulips

FruitarGeek

So about 2 weeks ago, maybe 3, I get an email from the promo people of Rocking the Daisies offering me a 'early bird ticket' which for those of you that dont know, is just a ticket going cheaper for a certain time period. So I was excited cause it is vastly cheaper (R85 cheaper), so naturally I was not going to buy this ticket unless I know they had some good acts playing, because last year RTD was atrocious, the line up was as exciting as buying window cleaners. I go to their site to have a look at what acts are playing, because for R380 I expect some decent bands, maybe an international one too, I dont know. I go on the site, and they say "No acts confirmed for 2010". Do they seriously think I will buy an early ticket without knowing who the bands are? This frustrates me.

*On a side note, who of you are considering going?

raithza

I'm almost definitely going, regardless of the acts (even if the music sucks, the party will still be cool ? )

inflames

That sucks! By now they should have secured a few band!
So why not list the bands, they don't have to put them in a time slot!

makepeace

i'll be there for sure.

they have definitely confirmed acts, prob just don't want to release them yet for some or other reason.. buying a ticket without knowing who is playing probably justifies the discount.. i wonder how long early bird is on for..

some friends of mine are playing (holiday murray, a great folk-dance rock band), and i'll be there for them at least. other than that i'm sure they'll have the usuals (ashtray electric, aking, van coke kartel, pretty blue guns etc) which are always worth a watch imo.

i reckon they'll put up the confirmed acts pretty soon.

Yo dude.. You know the guys? Im friends with all of them too, one of my favourite bands actually. They are soo damn Good

But regards with the early bird, I dunno it just seems stupid to sell tickets without letting us know what we getting our moneys worth

makepeace

No way! Yea at the moment they're probably one of my favorite bands as well. You're in The Curious Incident right? Think I saw you guys at their first gig at that Irish Pub.

Yea I guess you're right re buying tickets blindly. The last thing we want happening is another Coke Zero Fest fiasco.. Except this time there won't be a refund..
