How could people dress like that, or even pose like that ?
It was the 60s. A lot happened, and very quickly and fashions were changing all the time.
Time for everybody to dig out a recording of "Dedicated Follower Of Fashion" (remembering, of course, that the guy who wrote the song was not unaccquainted with edwardian jackets, polka dots and ruffled shirts).
The heights (or perhaps the depths) of undiluted sixtiesness was probably the Incredible String Band. These days a lot of people view them and their albums as so 60s it's embarassing.
