Right, so I recently had my birthday and the parents wanted to give me something. I thought for a while since asking for a Dual Rectifier was definitely out of the question! ? ? ?
So in this time, I played a gig in Cape Town and with the heavy rains we had here recently, I was quite scared that the H 2 0 might affect my amp's electronic into H 2 Ooo no! Hence, the birthday present was going to be a amp cover for my spidervalve. But I checked online and at $40.00 a cover, it was a bit steep and that does not include shipping.

Naming this to my Mom, she said that she had a old singer/bernina (types of sowing machines for the uneducated reading this ? ?) somewhere, and she will attempt it. At first I thought that this was going to be a balls up since she has not sown for sometime, but when I got the finished product a few days ago, I was bloody surprised. It is a bit big (better big than to small), but was done damn well! She ended up calling me and saying that this was so cheap to make. She bought the material (I think it is some sort of PVC material or something in that - not sure) at R42 a square meter (this was more than enough for my 1 X 12 spidervalve combo) and then after her sowing skills let her down, she ended up taking it to some shop with a industrial sowing machine who did it for R50. Total price = R92 + shipping, (my old man tagged it along from George to Cape Town, so that was free ?). And now it is like a blank canvas so I can get any cool image and embroid it on.
I would highly recommend that you guys do this as it is cool to have something that is customized and unique to you. Besides, we are about halfway through winter and with the cold fronts still coming in, it might be a good idea to not let your amp be naked!
Thanks Mom!
