Self-oscillation is cool. Don't you want to have pedals that live and breath like little creatures too?! Awesome, it's like having a little rat on acid in your pedal-board, and knowing it'll never leave.
Actually it is nothing like a RAT, a RAT uses an IC chip, the FF uses AC127's Germ NPN transistors... I too have all the schematics/parts both of the PCB and vero layout. I have had to repair one for a client already, bad soldering job direct from the factory. The easy part is getting the onboard parts, but you are NOT going to find the Germ Trannies here, they need to be imported from the US/Europe. If you want one, PM me, I'll help you out ?
But to be honest I'd prob just steer you in the direction of 'Vexter' version, it is the SAME pedal, just without the hand painted box and assembled in China, with the SAME parts... but ALOT cheaper, you can pick one up here:
http://www.tonefactor.com/proddetail.php?prod=FuzzFactory, at today's rate of exchange that is just over R1,600.00, that isn't THAT much cheaper than what a custom, hand-built version by any tech would cost you, plus it ships instantly.
Alternatively you can grab a 'clone' off Ebay, they pop up from time to time, but you have no assurance of the quality of the workmanship/support.
On thing about Germ trannies is that they NEVER sound the same, not cool if you want to be able to have repeatable performance.... there is a story of when Queens of the Stone Age were making one of their records, their Fuzz Factory died and even with replacement trannies they couldn't get the tone back they had and had to abandon the songs, which kind of sucks... both a blessings and a curse.
Cheers
Matt
EDIT: DOH!!! I just noticed they are out of stock, but try other places like Pro Guitar Shop.
