The Monte Allums modded CS-3 is nice - keeps the Boss' obvious "squashed" compression effect but evens the frequency response. That makes it much more neutral tonally, clearing the mids no end. It also has a softer knee than stock - more opto-like.
I agree, very much a working mans board ? But only for a while...after I sell two guitars I'm adding a Modfactor, Timefactor, Whammy and Polytune. Very excited! I contemplated going the G System/Nova System route, but I honestly feel that would kill my urge to play. Just toooo much to fiddle and way too complex. I'm aware that the 'Factors are complex, but I am willing to learn their systems, whereas the G would be too much all at once. Maybe in the future...

The POG2 is truly epic. The tracking is unbelievable as well as the note separation. The actual build quality leaves a lot to be desired sadly ☹
Yep, the comp is modded with the monte allum mods. I have very little experience with compressors, so I couldn't tell you whether it was good or bad, it was just a pedal I got in a trade. The power supply however is epic! Can power 18v, Eventide Factor pedals, Nova series pedals, even whammys!
Boss Chorus for Menatone? Score of the century! Crazy. ??? Does it sound anything like the VOX AC30 Top Boost that it's trying to emulate?
Yup, build quality on every EH pedal I've ever owned or played has been a bit iffy. But the POG2 and MicroPOG have been on my list for a long time. Thanks for the comments on the tracking.
Yeah, I was going to ask about your CAE/ MXR Power Supply, but I thought 3 questions was enough to start with. ? Working for the local MXR importers, I know we've never brought those in, but based on your comments I think I'm going to get the bosses to order a couple. I've shied away from getting them because of the size, but seeing yours it looks like it isn't as huge as I thought. I reckon you could use it as a 2nd tier and put pedals on top of it. The output options do look pretty awesome. You get yours online?
The Menatone does a pretty good job of emulating a Top Boost, but only at certain positions. It can be a it of a bastard sometimes >☹ Sounds epic somedays, and shite on another. But hey, I dig fighting with it ?
Yep, I ordered the Power supply, Pog, Twosome and CC from ProGuitarShop. Took a week, and I am definitely ordering from there again ? Luckily the MXR/CAE has switchable primaries so ordering from the States wasn't an issue.
