Small experiment yes, but not enough to make a big difference imo.
I think the later you go you defeating the point of the buffer, its meant to keep your trebles nice and crisp its the only thing I can hear that it does when I am running the full rig.
It gets a little nasaly I at the end... I dont know... Thats what I heard. (With effects on like drives, compressor, wah)
But either way I think it should go before your drive pedals.
I have seen guys with boards that have a buffer at the begin, at the end, and some with a buffer at the begin and the end...
Its all about what you hear and happy with, I think it works well at the beginning, for me at least.
